Specialized Treatment for Personality Disorders & Relational Trauma
Understanding your patterns is the beginning. Changing them is the work.
Some patterns are difficult to change. Others are difficult to recover from.
At Blank Space Therapy, we specialize in understanding both.
Founded by Jewell de Groot, Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider, Blank Space Therapy is a specialized psychotherapy practice serving individuals with personality disorders and those recovering from the psychological effects of harmful relationships.
We focus on two areas of treatment: Borderline, Narcissistic, and Histrionic Personality Disorders, and PTSD or Complex PTSD associated with relationships involving Cluster B personality pathology.
Our approach is direct, intentional, and focused on helping clients move beyond understanding their experiences toward meaningful behavioral and psychological change.
Two Specialties. One Commitment to Meaningful Change.
Personality Disorder Treatment
A personality disorder diagnosis is not a character judgment, nor does it mean someone is incapable of change.
We work with individuals experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), and Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD).
Treatment focuses on understanding and challenging persistent patterns involving emotional regulation, self-concept, interpersonal relationships, defenses, and behavioral responses.
Our work emphasizes insight, accountability, and the development of healthier, more adaptive patterns of functioning.

Relational Trauma & PTSD/cPTSD
Not all trauma happens in a single moment. Sometimes it develops through prolonged exposure to harmful relationship dynamics that gradually alter how we understand ourselves, trust others, and respond to the world.
We specialize in treating PTSD and Complex PTSD associated with relationships involving narcissistic, borderline, histrionic, or antisocial personality pathology.
Treatment focuses on processing traumatic experiences, reducing trauma-related symptoms, rebuilding self-trust, developing boundaries, and restoring personal agency.
You do not need to prove another person's diagnosis to seek treatment for the harm you have experienced.

Our Treatment Philosophy
Understanding why something happens matters. But insight alone does not necessarily change what happens next.
At Blank Space Therapy, we recognize that meaningful change requires more than identifying patterns. It involves examining the beliefs, defenses, and behaviors that maintain them and developing the ability to respond differently.
Whether you're working to change deeply ingrained personality patterns or recovering from the psychological effects of a harmful relationship, treatment is individualized, collaborative, and focused on meaningful progress.
We believe in compassion without abandoning accountability, understanding without making excuses, and recognizing a person's capacity for change without minimizing the difficulty of that work.
Specialized Care Begins Here
You may already have a diagnosis. You may be questioning longstanding patterns in your relationships. Or you may be recovering from experiences that have left you struggling to recognize yourself.
Wherever you're beginning, treatment starts with understanding what you're experiencing and determining an appropriate path forward.
